QBE Insurance Australia (QBE) has adopted the General Insurance Information Privacy Code (“the Code”). The Code applies to any personal information collected by QBE, Compusure and your travel Agent.
QBE, Compusure and your travel agent collect information necessary to underwrite and administer you insurance cover, to maintain and improve customer service and to advise you of our products.
In the course of administering your policy QBE, Compusure and your travel agent may exchange your personal information between themselves or disclose your personal information to:
(i) another member of the QBE Insurance group of companies either in Australia or overseas.
(ii) Contractors or third party providers providing services related to the administration of your policy.
(iii) Banks and financial institutions for the purpose of processing your application and obtaining policy payments.
(iv) In the event of a claim, assessors, third party administrators, emergency providers, retailers, medical providers and travel carriers.
We will only disclose your personal information to these parties for the primary purpose for which it was collected. In some circumstances QBE and Compusure is entitled to disclose your personal information without your authorisation to third parties such as law enforcement agencies or government authorities.
Visitors to our Web site may browse the sites anonymously. Personal information is not required to access our Web site.
Compusure travel insurance Web site uses a secure server and security protocol to safeguard the information you provide during the purchase and payment processes.
We use a secure server implementing the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol from Thawte to interact with you when you provide personal information during the purchase and payment processes. This state of the art technology encrypts your information to prevent third parties from reading the information whilst it is in transit.
We may use cookies to assist with interaction with your computer but these are “session” cookies only and expire when you close your browser.
You may gain access to your personal information by a written request to QBE Insurance.
QBE Insurance has established an internal dispute resolution process for handling customer complaints and an access and correction procedure. Both procedures are generally free of charge however we reserve the right to charge for access requests in some limited circumstances.
