International benefits
This is only a summary of cover. Exclusions apply and you should read the full terms and conditions applicable to the policy.
Cancellation Fees – Lost Deposits: Charges incurred by unforeseen circumstances outside your control such as sickness or accident, retrenchment, strikes. Includes Travel Agents fees and reimbursement for frequent flyer points lost.
Overseas Medical Hospital, Dental & Emergency Expenses: Medical, dental and accommodation cost and, when agreed to by us, your early return to Australia for medical reasons and limited housekeeping upon return.
Missed connections: Missed connections special events cover.
Hijack and Kidnap: Distress allowance $1,000 per day.
Cash in Hospital: After 48 hours hospitalisation overseas we will pay you $50 for every 24 hour period you are confined for out- of- pocket expenses and other comforts. This is in addition to your medical and hospital costs.
Luggage: Covers accidental loss, theft or damage to your luggage. Including duty- free purchases, and loss or fraudulent use of credit cards. Emergency cover if luggage is delayed. Limits apply to any one item of luggage.
Special limits apply for video equipment, cameras and portable electrical equipment such as lap top computers, electronic organisers and golf clubs.
Additional Luggage: Cover on items worth more than the limits shown can be arranged up to a maximum $4,000 any one item or set with a maximum of $8,000 in total by paying an additional premium of 4% on the insured value of these specified items. Receipt for purchase or valuations either one that is not more than twelve months old, must be produced to your Travel Agent before issue of the Policy and again to the Insurer in support of any Claim that may occur.
Travel Delay: Cover for reasonable accommodation and meals if you are delayed by carriers for more than ten hours.
Resumption of Trip: Cover for expenses to resume your trip should you return to Australia with our consent following the death or, sudden serious injury or illness, of you or a relative or close business associate.
Accidental Death: Occurring as a result of an accident. Includes in- flight cover.
Your Legal Liability: Protection for you being liable for injuring other persons or causing damage to their property and, most importantly, your legal expenses are included.
Rental Vehicle Excess: If you Rent a Car from a rental company and it is involved in an accident damaged or stolen, we will pay up to the amount shown towards the cost of the insurance excess on the vehicle – additionally if you are certified by a treating medical practitioner or dentist as being unable to drive we will pay $250 towards the cost of return of the vehicle to the owner’s nearest depot. You have the option to increase the amount of cover by payment of an extra premium of $15 for each additional $500 of excess cover required maximum $5,000.
